Fiumi di lava, buie caverne, abissi sotterranei. Oscuri demoni abitano le viscere dell’Etna.
Efesto, il dio del fuoco, vive nel suo ventre e là forgia armi e oggetti preziosi destinati alle divinità dell’Olimpo. Secondo la leggenda, in suo onore fu eretto, lungo i fianchi della Regina delle nevi, un tempio, dentro il quale potevano accedere solo i virtuosi e i puri di spirito.
L’Etna è anche regno di panorami mozzafiato, vegetazione fitta e ridente. Verde infinito, candidi mantelli, cuscini gialli di ginestra e lilla di saponaria.
Mondo parallelo, microcosmo interconnesso e dialogante. L’Etna è visione, astrazione mentale. Indica un vasto territorio fatto di natura aspra, vigneti centenari, vecchi palmenti, eleganti dimore d’epoca. L’Etna è inferno e paradiso insieme. Terra nera di luce cristallina.
Con i suoi 3340 circa mt d’altezza, è il vulcano attivo più alto d’Europa. Iscritta dal 2013 nella World Heritage List UNESCO, viene da sempre considerata simbolo della Sicilia.
Figlia di Urano e Gea, il Mongibello è nato dall’incontro tra cielo e terra. Grazie alla sua intima indole richiama l’idea di fertilità, abbondanza, maternità.
L’Etna, per le sue caratteristiche meteorologiche, si presta a una viticoltura fiorente. Tutto l’areale ricadente nella ormai famosa “C” rovesciata, viene denominato Wine Walley e attrae migliaia di estimatori provenienti da ogni parte del mondo. Le macro zone sono state suddivise in Contrade. Se ne contano 133 con possibilità di incremento a breve.
Qui trovano posto le Cantine più rinomate, da Nord a Est, Sud-Est e Sud-Ovest.
I vitigni più rappresentativi sono il Carricante, il Nerello mascalese e il Nerello cappuccio. Insieme a varietà minori quali Minnella, Barbarossa, Moscatella rendono unica la qualità dei vini.
Vini di montagna che parlano di forti pendenze, escursioni termiche marcate, agricoltura eroica.
Vini decisi, corposi, minerali. Vini frutto di fatica e operosità. Di vendemmie assolate e lunghi giorni di attesa. Di sussulti e sospiri, sferzante energia, improvvisi affacci sul blu cobalto del mare.

Rivers of lava, dark caves, underground abysses. Dark demons inhabit the bowels of Etna.
Hephaestus, the god of fire, lives in its womb and there forges weapons and precious objects destined for the gods of Olympus. According to legend, a temple was erected in his honor along the slopes of the Snow Queen, accessible only to the virtuous and pure of spirit.
Etna is also a kingdom of breathtaking views, dense and lush vegetation. Endless greenery, white cloaks, cushions of yellow broom and lilac soapwort.
A parallel world, an interconnected and dialoguing microcosm. Etna is a vision, a mental abstraction. It indicates a vast territory made up of rugged nature, centuries-old vineyards, old wine presses, and elegant period residences. Etna is both hell and paradise. A black land of crystalline light.

The macro-zones have been divided into Contrade (districts). There are 133 of them, with the possibility of increasing in the near future.
The most renowned wineries are located here, from the north to the east, southeast, and southwest.
The most representative grape varieties are Carricante, Nerello Mascalese, and Nerello Cappuccino. Together with lesser-known varieties such as Minnella, Barbarossa, and Moscatella, they make the quality of the wines unique.
Mountain wines that speak of steep slopes, marked temperature variations, and heroic agriculture.
